For the Mother Teresa Memorial Awards 2016 a discussion meeting was arranged with as main guest Mr. A.S.M Firoz M.P. chief whip of the National Assembly, Bangladesh. During this event this year’s Mother Teresa Award was given to Mr. Shamim Haque for his unparalleled social work.
He is the Founder Chairman of the Holland Children House where more than 100 orphans are brought up with all educational facilities. He has also been running the Free Plastic Surgery Camp & Free Banga Mata Eye Camp for the last 13 years together with the Faridpur Welfare Foundation. He is also the joint secretary of the European Awami League.
